Trivia: Diehard fans of the original TV series were upset by the treatment of the Jim Phelps character in this film, and by the decision to turn much of the focus onto one character.

Goofs: Revealing mistakes: At the end of the movie when Ethan and Luther are sitting having a drink outside the Anchor Pub in Bankside, they are sat at tables located in a place that would not be allowed by the local council because they would be obstructing the right of way. The only outside tables allowed at that pub are those located on the riverside podium – which can also be seen in shot.
