District 13 Ultimatum is the English version of the 2009 French action film, titled Banlieue 13 Ultimatum. The movie is also known as District Thirteen 2, Banlieue 14, B13-u and District 13: Ultimatum. The movie was directed by Patrick Alessandrin, and is a sequel to the critically acclaimed French action film of 2004, titled Banlieue 13, or District 13, which enjoyed success across the world and is considered by many as a modern cult classic.the movie has a running time of 96 minutes.

The movie stars Cyril Raffaelli and David Belle, who reprise the original roles of Damien and Leito. Luc Besson, who was the co-producer, as well as co-writer of the original movie, is the producer and screenwriter of the sequel.

The movie is set three years from the final proceedings of the original movie. The film starts with the authorities shown trying to retain law and order in the ravaged District 13. with the death of the gang overlord Taha Bemamud, a power vacuum has been created. This has led to the total control of this area being fought over by the five rival gang lords of the area who wish to step into the position of Taha. Leito and Damien come back to District 13 with the mission of bringing peace in the troubled area. They have to succeed in their mission before the Paris secret services take drastic measures for solving the problem.

District 13 Ultimatum is a movie which apart from a powerful storyline and amazing direction boasts of an impressive cast, which includes David Belle (as Leito), Cyril Raffaelli (as Damien Tomaso), Philippe Torreton (as the President), Daniel Duval (as Walter Gassman), Elodie Yung (as Tao), MC Jean Gab’1 (as Molko), Laouni Mouhid (as Ali-K), Fabrice Fletzinger (as Little Montana), Pierre-Marie Mosconi (as Roland) and Sophie Ducasse (as Sonya).

The movie is an absolute treat to watch. The English language version caters to a much wider audience. However, some people believe that it is better to watch the movie in French, with English subtitles. DVD/Bluray of the movie was released in August and is available in the market.
