From the acclaimed director Albert Hughes, previously known for the street centered stories of “Menace II Society”, “Dead Presidents”, “American Pimp” and a few others; The Book of Eli follows the trail of change as seen in the movies produced and or directed by Albert Hughes. The Book of Eli is about a man who must not only survive in the post apocalyptic world but he also has an mission crucial to the survival of mankind. He is protecting what is known from the bible as the book of Eli.
Denzel Washington, also known as Eli in this film, must traverse the dangerous terrain that is now proliferating throughout the new world. Death, destruction and chaos are the new order in this broken world. Bandits and marauders are out to steal, kill, and trick other survivors in order to prosper. There are some outcrops and settlements however; safe zones. Protected by good and innocent people. It has not been revealed what the full storyline is but it will likely be a rough outline of the story of the book of Eli taken from the bible.
Solara, who is played by Mila Kunis surprises us with this new role as a gun wielding beauty who wants to follow Eli and learn how to be like him and how to be strong. She goes under his wing to become a sort of understudy of his. She can be seen in the trailer as an innocent and charming young woman who learns how to defend good and kill evil. Together they must travel across the desolate American ruins and protect a sacred book which holds the secrets to humanities survival.
