The Wolfman is an upcoming movie. It is a remake of the classic film with the same name, which was released in 1941. The movie is being directed by Joe Johnston. Although the film was originally scheduled to be released in November 2009, its release has been postponed and it is now scheduled to be released in February 2010.

Set in late 1880s, the movie sticks to the plotline of the original classic. The movie has Lawrence Talbot (played by Benicio del Toro) getting reunited with his estranged father (played by Anthony Hopkins) after the unexplained disappearance of his brother. Lawrence’s childhood ended up the night his mother was dead. After he abandoned Blackmoore, a sleepy Victorian hamlet, he spent years trying to forget and recover. But when Gwen Conliffe (played by Emily Blunt), his brother’s fiancée, tracks him to help her find her missing love, Laurence returns home and decides to join the search. He thereby comes to know that something with brutish strength and unquenchable lust for blood has been killing villagers. He also comes to know that a Scotland Yard inspector Aberline (played by Hugo Weaving) has arrived to investigate the case.

As Lawrence tries to pieces together the gruesome puzzle, he also comes to know of an ancient curse which turns the afflicted people into werewolves on full moon nights. Now, the only chance that he has of ending the slaughter as well as protecting the woman whom he has fallen in love, Lawrence must kill the ferocious beast in the forests, which surrounding Blackmoore. While he hunts for the vicious beast, his tortured past will come to haunt him and uncover a primeval side to himself. A side that he never thought existed.

The cast of the film is pretty impressive and includes great actors like Anthony Hopkins and Benicio del Toro. The film also has Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving and Geraldine Chaplin in pivotal roles. Nicholas Day, Rob Dixon, Art Malik, Michael Cronin, David Sterne, David Schofield, Roger Frost, Clive Russell and Dianne Pilkington are the other actors, who are involved with the project, although their roles are unknown. Big Brother’s Emily Parr too plays a small role in this film.
